The Contra Costa
Avian Society meets at 7:30 p.m. on the last Friday of every
month. However, during the holidays, a few of our meetings
fall on the third Friday of the month. Please refer to this
website, or the Cheep News (our monthly newsletter), for the exact
date each month.
Our meetings
are held in the Contra Costa Water District Building at 1331
Concord Avenue in Concord. It is across the street from
the Acura car dealership.
From highway 680 near Pleasant
Hill/Concord/Martinez
Take the highway 4 EAST exit
toward Stockton/Antioch/Pittsburgh - about 1.5
miles
Exit right onto highway 242/24
WEST towards Oakland - about 1.5 miles
Exit Concord Ave
Turn RIGHT onto Concord Ave -
stay in right lane
Turn RIGHT at first light into
Water District parking lot (first driveway at light is a former EXPO
store so make sure to go to second driveway)
You will see cars in the parking
lot
Come into the building and the
auditorium is on the left after you enter

7:30 PM meeting--Speaker: Susan Euing, a biologist with the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. She monitors four local
endangered species of plants and wildlife, including the California
Least Tern.
August 29, 2008,
7:30 PM meeting--Speaker: To be announced.

2008, 7:30 PM meeting--Speaker: Shelley Parker will offer a
presentation on the vocalizations of birds.
October 24,
2008, 7:30 PM--Speaker: To be announced.
November/December meeting location and date to be announced. (Combined
meeting is
generally the first Friday in December).
